The next day it was back to work for me. For Austin and Carmen it was the day they headed out to the Stake Youth Conference at Ballarat. They got them all to meet in the city and then they caught the train. They had a great time and the weather was good. That of course meant that I was at home by myself for two days. Vern and the rest had stayed up in Canberra so they could go through the Sydney Temple with Tana. Marion had headed up to Dubbo to visit her boyfriend Jordan Fox for a few days. She left from Canberra and took the bus to Sydney the train to the airport and the plane to Dubbo.
Easter as usual was basketball so I was left on my own again during Friday and Saturday. It was great I got a few things done around the house. I trimmed the oak tree in the front yard as it was getting close to the power lines and re-wired the clothes line, something I should have done when we moved into the house years ago. Sunday evening we all headed down to the Pakenham Stake centre for a fireside that Vern was organising the music for.
We didn’t do much on Easter Monday because the weather turned bad, we just watched Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part two. Not my thing but I did very well keeping my month shut.
We had the General Conference sessions the weekend after Easter. We enjoyed them, when Austin and I were driving home from the Priesthood session I told him that Dylan told me that I shouldn’t have let you sleep through them. He just laughed and said he would have liked to have seen me try.
Eldon’s daughter Roni had a baby this month which she called Kirra. She told me she got the name from the Internet, I said it was lucky she didn’t call it Google. Vern invited all the family over for lunch to see the new baby. I wanted to sing happy birthday but they wouldn’t let me. I was good to have the next generation over.
The Melbourne Mandarin Branch had their first meeting on the twenty-second. The first floor of an office building at 123 Lonsdale St has been converted into a chapel. It is very nice and we had almost one hundred attend that first Sunday.
ANZAC day was cold and very wet. Carmen when to a friend’s to practice drama then later Ellen took Carmen and Austin into town to a Karaoke place.
