Ray is waiting to put this into his infernal machine. He reckons he has it all set up ready. So...
Rosemary did not ramble far in January! Much of my time was spent in and about the garden, either fighting back the wilderness therefrom, or preserving the harvest thereof. This month I was able to reciprocate when Ann Silva brought a bag of citrus fruit from her garden when she and Keith came Home/Visiting Teaching. She and I walked around my garden and I was able to give her green beans, yellow beans, broccoli, courgettes and cucumbers. Ann and Keith have a garden with long-estabished grapefruit, lemon and lime trees. The lemons and limes make great lemonade.
I spent considerable evening time early in the month writing out a long illustrated version of my Kahurangi holiday, and as always there was endless preparation of Sunday School lessons. Ray sees me working at this, and remarks that I should know all that stuff by heart by now! With my memory?
Our social life for the month consisted of an unexpected visit from Stan and Manua Padasewa, who once lived in Tokoroa, and have for many years lived in Canada, Stan's home country, and a visit with Mark, Nicola and Jonathan at Temple View. I was happy to be able to participate in the baptism of some of Nicola's forebears. Ray has written of these events.
We went to Temple View the previous week too. I wanted to do some sessions while the New Caledonians were there. When the sessions were in English I could read the dialogue in French, and when the sessions were in French I could read the dialogue in English. This helped keep me awake.
I got my new flash electronic passport! I am glad I am going to Utah with Nicola, as she has made all the arrangements, and she can help me with the electronic stuff. It is all over my head.
I will quote the last paragraph from my January journal “My last day of being 82. It was a good age, a good year. I have been and am greatly blessed. Good health and all the creature comforts I need or want. Interesting things to do. A comfortable calling. I think I am in denial of my age though. I take my health and fitness for granted. True, I eat healthily and exercise regularly, but I take for granted my ability to do so. Having said that, I found it hard to get up this morning!”
I might add to that, I have a great family. Thank you all for being my family!

I'm glad you are excited about coming with us. The arrangements are rather daunting, I agree. But I think we have it sorted. Thanks for meeting up for the baptisms. It was a nice time.
