The blog for August 2010.
Fancy naming a month after some joker that lived back in Roman times. We are tied up with history and tradition and most of it a lot of twaddle.
As most of you are aware I like looking at properties and dreaming of living in them. Most of them I couldn’t even own the front gate. However I’m getting a bit tired of that dream and especially after a couple of experiences I have just had.
Sometimes the house looks good in the picture and then when you go and have a look at it the whole thing loses interest.
I have always admired from a distance a house just outside the limits of Putaruru and like the location and the fact that it was walkable to the shops. The other week a chap I know told me he was now living in it and would I like to have a nose. So, Sunday on the way back from church we dropped in and it was a revelation. I wouldn’t like to live there if they paid me to.
We went to see another place near Morrinsville and never even went in because of how it was situated. One knows what one thinks he would like in a place and to find the combination I would think is near impossible.
What a lot of rain, dull weather and cloud. Each year I wonder if it is wetter that the last. It would be great to rain at night and sun in the day.
Our lives are very sedentary, I had to put that down to prove I wouldn’t be
able to spell it. For once I was right as the red underline jumped up. Will I be able to spell it next time…No.
I had two poached eggs for lunch, I had forgotten how I like them with salt and bread and butter. I’ll never be a gourmet because I can’t spell well enough!
There, from here to the end my deathless words have disappeared. Sometimes I hate computers, and being one lazy sod I detest having to do it over again. No doubt I forgot to save the last bit, but then a warning comes up to save, I don’t know and that’s the truth.
Oh well I’ll send this little comment for now. Ray.
