O.P.L. FOR NOVEMBER FROM THE RAVER
Hello all you guys, I hope all is well considering what a challenge this old world is. We continue to still be able to stand on our hind legs and do the chores.
During this month in the year of 2009 off and on we have been constructing what we have called the lean-to between the garage and the fence. If we grease the sides of the trailer we can get it in.
If you remember from the front corner of the house was a very old and unstable bit of a trellis, then the trailer under a cover, then the five trunked tree, well all that is left of that is the stump. In fact you could call this house ‘The Stumps’ and not be very far out. So, we had to have another place under cover for the trailer and thus ‘The Lean-to.’
This bit of an architectural wonder was one horror for me to build. I had some iron roofing that I had picked up for $20 years ago that had been salvaged from a gang’s burnt-out house. It was a little bent here and there. I didn’t want to attach this monstrosity to the garage so I had to put in some pole framing along the garage. Now that frame top had to have an angle on it to run down to the top 2 by 4 on the fence and the iron had to fit pretty snug so what with the angle of the roof going into ninety degrees at the top and bottom you can imagine what a time I had not knowing what I was doing. If a tradesman could see it now he would probably kill himself laughing.
Rosemary has had some back trouble and so we went to a local osteopath and she has been much better since then.
Received a parcel in the post and wondered what that was all about. Posted from Chicago and bought in Boston from Janet ‘The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide’ by Douglas Adams. 815 pages of social rip-offs and what a laugh. Thanks Janet and when I am gone David can inherit it!
Also in the package was a lovely compact from Macy’s for Mum. All a pleasant surprise.
Mark called up on the 26th and we had a great old chat and then Jonathan even had something to say to me (knew when my birthday was and how old I will be!!) and finally Nicola, great stuff.
All the rest is chores, going up to get groceries, feeding the cat and pigeon and jig-saws.
From the middle of the known universe all the best, Ray.
