Brief Blog for August
I rejoice in having a great-grandchild! I hope to see him in October.
Nothing much happened with us in Putaruru worth writing
about. But I'll write a bit anyway.
My wounded leg healed.
I quite enjoyed two weeks off church during the process. My teeth are
falling apart, which is proving expensive.
Otherwise we are well and solvent.
I thought we had a breakthrough in Family History when I
found the name of my great-grandfather's wife on FamilySearch, but cannot seem
to locate the relevant documents, which is disappointing.
I found a box of family stories in a box in the garage, and
wondered if I should type them into my laptop and put them on CDs. Will anyone
ever be interested? How long will CDs
last? This laptop does not take
DVDs. Probably my other one does, but I
never write documents on it as it has no printer. How long will DVDs last anyway?
My keyboard failed to type the question mark. I was reluctant to have it seen to, and tried
to write everything without formulating any questions. Then I found a lavender seed lodged beneath
the key. Some first aid with a needle,
and once more a question mark!
We had one walk worth noting, that is, worth noting for
ourselves. We trespassed and walked
again in the “hidden valley” we found and enjoyed over 20 years ago.
And that really seems to be it for August.
