Ray's Ravings for March/12

The months go by and they certainly seem to go by fast. At the beginning of the month I am reminded to get going and turn out another run down of all the things we have been doing here in 130.
The sooner I get it done the sooner I can get ready for the next month!
On the first of March Margaret was picked up by the Road Cat and away to Auckland International Airport. We had a nice little visit with her.
As you know I’m a keen op-shop buyer and get a great buzz out of getting bargains. We have four shops in the business and I suppose it gives one an idea of the conditions in the area when they are all in good locations for business. At one time they would have been on the back streets. Anyway, I have gotten myself lately four tartan like work shirts for winter. In my searching of course I look at other things such as books. I noticed this rather large pictorial book and glanced at a couple of pictures and thought they where photos and for a dollar in my usual compulsive buying attitude I brought it home. After getting back I had a look at the most fantastic reality paintings I have ever laid my eyes on. The artist by the way is a chap called Ching. He doesn’t look Asian as you would think with a name like that and I have heard of him. That book, you couldn’t put a price on it.
Took the old car in for its warrant and they told me it needed three new tires. So that cost me $315 and if it had been a week later they had a special with buy three tires and get another free.
So here I am waiting for a telephone call while Rosemary is working out in the garden on Easter Friday. I hope to go and visit John in Arapuni and we will have a natter while Rosemary does a hike on one of the Waikato River Trails.
Until next time, hope all is as well as can be expected with the rest of you.
All the best from Dad the oldest.
