What a challenge to fill in a month’s report of doing nothing that would interest anyone. We did of course have a visit from Janet and Johnny around the first of the month, but Rosemary has reported on that in her last blog. I have just read through my journal and found nothing of interest to the general blog reader.
I cannot believe one would be interested in reading about going on local walks, doing the chores, and up to shops for groceries etc.
I have spent time in Africa, on a trip to Europe, and three downloaded books from the net. My form of escape from the madness of blowing one’s self up, getting into fights and knifing someone, and watching sports.
It has just rained a few drops while doing this! The countryside is getting to look brown and we could do with a nice steady rain. It was so lovely and green in the spring. This summer here has been a good one for holiday people, but the farmers are finding it getting hard with their cow feed down.
We of course can water the garden as there is no shortage of water from the spring supply. It seems such a waste of water in the spring-fed Waihou River, part of the Blue Spring setup. There it is rushing along to the sea as many of you have seen with water that can be up to a hundred years old.
I have stood on that bridge half way along the trail and watched the water go by, thinking, boy, that is a lot of water passing at any one point 24 hours a day seven days a week and it never changes its rate of flow.
We seem to be alright healthwise for our great age, the cat has her moments and the pigeon has a very quiet life style with no TV to watch.
Hope you are all well considering your great ages. The old man.
