O.P.L. for Sept. 2009 from 130 Arapuni St. Putaruru;
September began on Monday the 31st. of Aug. by taking Rosemary to Temple View where she will be staying till the 5th a Saturday.
Meanwhile I did the chores, walks, and usual things of everyday living and somehow managed to continue on.
Then on the 09 09 2009 we had the tree choppers in and they took out the five trees in one by the west side of the house. A beautiful strong Linden tree, that was here when we bought the place back in 1968. At that time it was just a shrub of about three meters high. I should have taken it out then and saved myself a lot of work and finally money. However, it did shade the house and kept it cool in the summer. Now I have the walls and ceiling all insulated that need is not required any more.
The next day we had them cut out two large nut trees in the back of the section. One of the trees had died. Also had the men cut out a few shrubs. The neighbors took away the large wood for heating. There was still a lot of rubbish around and we took three loads to the tip and have more greenery to take there. It is starting to look a little more tidy and of course will let a lot more sun into the place and enable us to grow more stuff in the back.
Not to have enough on our plate we have started to put pink bats over the ceiling. These have been put over the old ones that have been there for about forty years and have settled considerably. These where put in by my father when they lived in the house. We finished that job by the 12th. Now as soon as we get a bit more money we will see about doing under the floor and apart from double glazing would have a properly insulated house and be able to heat it for half what it is costing now. The question arises; will we live long enough to benefit the expense? We have had an HRV system installed for two years.
September ends by taking Rosemary to Temple View. Cerian, TC, Lauren, Vaughan and Caleb were using TC’s brother’s place to stay while the children did some baptisms for the dead and so we went in to see them and Rosemary did a couple of sessions as well.
The house was 9 Mckay Drive, the Cape Cod Style house that I had always admired and so here I was having a look at something I had fancied to live in. The section is situated on the high spot of the drive and goes back from the road at quite a steep gradient. So steep, that you can’t see anything out the back. However the view out the front across to the Temple is great and being that you can look over all the houses even better.
Hope all you guys are getting along well, that this experience on earth isn’t too overwhelming and that your health is passable.
Until the next blog, I remain,
The Oldest Raver.

What motivated the de-forestation of 130?
I also googled number 9.
